Crocheting and crafting

I recently taught myself how to crochet. I have only mastered a single stitch and I am only comfortable crocheting squares. I am busy making several lap robes. There is something so deeply soothing about watching the yarn transform itself into rows and rectangles on its way to being something actually useful. The feel of the soft yarn is pure comfort. I find my mind wandering and this practice has its own mindfulness that is key to helping me get through these days.

I have also decided to continue playing with paper crafts after I was deep into making my own valentines earlier this month. My beloved 7 year old friend who lives next door loves holidays and believes in decorating and fully participating in the joy of every holiday - large or small. He inspired me to create these love notes to share.
